Very Fine Mahogany Queen Anne High Chest
This high chest (highboy) has exceptional proportions and a great old finish. The drawer arrangement is three-over-two-over three on top with a one-over-three arrangement in the base. A nice crown molding and mid-molding frame the top while the base has cabriole legs with shells on the knees terminating in trifid feet. The 37.75" case width creates a nice sense of verticality.
The brass is not original. There is small patch on the top left drawer, an interior fracture in the top right-hand drawer and a 4" replacement on the top rear right-hand side of the crown molding.
